A SCHOOL has shut down after an email threatening its security was sent to a member of staff.

Wyvern St Edmund's was alerted to a "potential security threat" this morning, January 10, and informed the police immediately.

Police officers were on site to "assess and ensure the safety of the premises" and are expected to remain for the next few hours.

There is currently no evidence to suggest that the threat the school received was genuine.
