A police incident at Salisbury train station has disrupted railway services. 

On Monday, January 15, all railway lines were blocked at around 11.30am due to an emergency incident near the railway in Salisbury. 

The British Transport Police have confirmed that they received reports of a trespasser on the tracks. 

A spokesperson said: "Officers were called to Salisbury railway station at around 11.40am today (15 January) following reports of a trespasser on the tracks.

"Officers attended and a woman was arrested under suspicion of trespass."

All lines reopened 30 minutes later but, South Western Railway (SWR) warned that journeys may still be delayed. 

SWR said: "Following the police dealing with an incident near the railway at Salisbury all lines have now reopened.

"Train services are now running through this station but may be cancelled, delayed or revised at short notice while we return to normal service.

"For further information or onward travel advice please speak to a member of staff or use a station help point.

"We are very sorry for any delay that this may cause to your journey."
