A TRACTOR was stolen and destroyed in a fire in Verwood for the second time this week.

The tractor was stolen from the Hurn Court Lane in the Hurn area between 5pm on Friday, February 9, and 7am on Saturday, February 10.

Then on the morning of the Saturday, it was reported the tractor had been found burnt out at a farm in Verwood.

The tractor's fuel bowser was missing.

Officers are investigating the theft and are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

Police Constable Sebastian Haggett of the Rural Crime Team said: “I am appealing to anyone who saw the tractor being driven on the night it was stolen travelling from Hurn to Verwood, possibly through Three-Legged Cross or Aderholt, to come forward.

“As part of my appeal, I am issuing an image of the stolen tractor and hope it may jog someone’s memory of the incident.

“I would ask anyone with information in relation to this theft to please contact Dorset Police.”

On Sunday, February 11, Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue was mobilised to another tractor fire in Cranborne.

Verwood Fire Station, assisted by Fordingbridge Fire Station, used foam to extinguish the fire.
