This year sees the 80th Anniversary of Glenn Miller and his famous band playing for the local people and GIs in Victoria Park.

It would be lovely to mark this pivotal event. Sadly shortly after he was lost in an aircraft crash just before Christmas 1944, never to be found.

It would be wonderful to commemorate this event, maybe with his music and an event in the park? I am writing to various organisations who might be interested and could help us mark the event. A blue plaque would be nice.

I have tried finding the exact date but this has alluded me so far.

Hopefully, a team of like-minded individuals can be assembled to make this a reality.
