An employee at the Old Railway Hotel in Porton is believed to have stolen up to £2,500 from the business, Wiltshire Police has said.
It is believed the employee, who has not been named, obtained the funds by using their own card reader rather than that of the business, directing money to their own account.

The incident is now being investigated as fraud.
Police said they would like to hear from anyone who visited the Old Railway Hotel between Monday, December 4 and Friday, December 8 of last year, and has a withdrawal on their account showing funds going toward “Take Over Enterprise Ltd”.
Anyone who may have information has been asked to contact Wiltshire Police on 101, quoting crime reference number 54230130869.
