A CAR-sharing service committed to sustainable transportation solutions has announced its official launch in Salisbury.

Co-Wheels will be introducing two vehicles to the city- an MG ZS and an MG3, hoping to encourage residents to consider alternative modes of transportation and help meet Salisbury’s carbon neutrality goals.

Richard Falconer, head of locations and business development at Co Wheels, said: "The deployment of two petrol Co Wheels vehicles marks the beginning of a new era of mobility in the city. This launch signifies a significant step towards reducing the environmental impact of individual car ownership while promoting community-centric and efficient transportation practices."

Co Wheels members can locate and book nearby vehicles from £6.50 per hour using the company’s app or website.

Wiltshire Councillor Caroline Thomas, cabinet member for transport, said: "It’s great news that Co Wheels has launched its car share scheme in Salisbury, as it can save users money while also helping to reduce carbon emissions. As set out in our business plan, we want to ensure our communities are well-connected and reduce carbon emissions, and two new car-sharing vehicles will enable people in the city to do that. I would urge anyone with an interest in using a car share scheme, or who only needs to use a car on an occasional basis, to give Co Wheels a try.”
