A COMPANY has announced a special collaboration with Salisbury NHS focused on fitness classes for children aged one to five.

Kids Love Fit, which runs fun fitness classes for children within schools, has launched 'Moving Monsters' and 'Happy Little Monsters', which will be free for under-fives in Bemerton Heath.

It is a six-week course teaching children and their families "positive nutrition, lifestyle and physical activity choices".

The company has also designed smart plates and water bottles for each child taking part in the course.

Founder Alex Taylor told the Journal: "This is the first course of its kind and Happy Little Monsters will hopefully be making their way across the country to multiple communities in need.

"We have Happy little monsters, our munching monster, our moving monster and our mindful monster to represent each of the areas the children learn on the course."

"Kizzy, our Mindful monster, teaches all about big emotions, grieving techniques and awareness of our mental health. Louie, the moving monster teaches the children to keep active and Frankie our munching monster teaches all about the different food groups and how our plates should look at at lunch and dinner. "

Sessions are running throughout March on Tuesdays at 9:30am at Saint Michael's Church in Bemerton Heath and Fridays 9:30am at Bemerton Heath Centre on Pinewood Way.  The courses launch after Easter.
