A BLIND cat is attempting to complete 100 miles in order to raise funds for a rescue charity.

Mr Picklerick is Cat Watch Wiltshire's mascot and is currently taking on the challenge of walking 100 miles in March, alongside volunteers.

The charity is now requesting for help with his challenge and asks for volunteers to help with their 'rideathon' in order to add more miles to Mr Picklerick's tally.

Mr Picklerick's movements are tracked via the Tractive app, which displays his heatmap. Updates are provided on Cat Watch Wilthsire's Facebook page.

A spokesperson for Cat Watch Wiltshire said: "He's doing well but we are asking for people to come and do some miles on our exercise bike to add to his total."

The 'rideathon' will be held at the shelter, in Lynchets Road, Amesbury, on Saturday, March 23 from 10am to 4pm.

Volunteers are encouraged to participate by riding the exercise bikes provide, and rack up as many miles as they can.

The spokesperson added: "We would love for as many people to come along as possible, we can schedule turns on the bike if I know who’s coming and we can go live from social as you have your turn on the bike so that you can share it on your own pages.

"Even if you can’t cycle, it would be nice to have some support and also if we can have some donation collectors for passers-by."

In addition to Mr Picklerick's efforts and the 'rideathon', a number of Bengal kittens have been putting in the miles on their exercise wheel.
