A SHOCK announcement this morning has left the major political parties reeling, as the Salisbury Giant has thrown his hat into the ring as an Independent.
Backed by Hobnob, the Giant made the announcement from the steps of Salisbury Museum at sunrise.
Current MP and Conservative candidate (and birthday boy) John Glen has not yet responded publicly to the challenge.
The Giant, aged approximately 624 years old, is yet to release a full manifesto, but is thought to be centre-left in his policies.
