FOUR-way traffic lights to allow for emergency gas repairs will remain on Wilton Road until Friday, April 12, "all going well".

Motorists have experienced long delays on the A36 after gas company SGN began works at its junctions with Longland and Highbury Avenue on Friday, April 5.

The company confirmed that the lights are manually controlled between 7am and 7pm every day to "minimise disruption".

Team members are also working extra hours and the repairs are expected to be completed on Friday, April 12.

Meanwhile a gas leak is also being repaired on Devizes Road.

Two-way temporary lights are in place but the road should reopen as normal on Friday, April 12.

An SGN spokesperson said: "We’d like to thank Salisbury residents, motorists and businesses for your continued patience and understanding."
