This year will feature the most varied lineup to date, with over 130 talks, panel discussions, quizzes, live podcasts and debates.

To mark the 80th anniversary of D-Day, Second World War enthusiasts are in for a treat this June. After an absence of six years, historic warbirds will be just some of the star attractions of the weekend programme.

Saturday visitors will see the famous Spitfire flying over the festival site in patriotic fashion, while Sunday visitors can watch The Hurricane which played such a vital role in the Battle of Britain and destroyed more enemy aircraft than all the other air and ground defences combined return to the skies over Chalke.

The Chalke History Festival caters to visitors of all ages, with special activities and entertainment for children and teenagers, from Soldier School and puppetry to arts and crafts. Wizzo’s Rip-Roaring History, an old-time circus sideshow where the stars are the props and extraordinary stories, also makes a return this year.

The immersive Trench Experience will transport those brave enough to participate back to July 1944 and the pivotal battle for Hill 112. Complete with authentic uniforms, equipment, and props, this is a unique opportunity to experience history up close, and to get familiar with the sights, sounds and smells of the Second World War like never before.

The vintage fairground also makes its return to Chalke Valley - complete with big wheel and Helter Skelter.
