THESE seven people were recently sentenced for crimes they committed in and around Salisbury.

All of these cases were heard at Salisbury Magistrates' Court on April 19.

Ryan Gardiner, of the Royal School of Artillery at Larkhill, was caught drink driving in Castle Street on March 29.

The 22-year-old drove a BMW 1 Series with 74 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of his breath, more than double the 35mcg legal limit.

Gardiner was banned from driving for 17 months and fined £415. He must also pay £85 costs and a £166 surcharge.

Jake Nicholas Quinn, 27, of Maryland Close, stole two four-packs of Strongbow cider valued £15 from BP on January 17.

He also failed to attend probation appointments on March 22, April 5 and April 9 which were requirements of a community order.

Quinn was fined £161 and ordered to pay £15 compensation.

Jordan Venning, 19, of Bishop Row in Longhedge, pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly in Milford Street on March 31.

He was fined £166 and ordered to pay £85 costs as well as a £66 surcharge.

Michael Sainsbury, 85, of Teffont Magna Corner North, drove a Peugeot 207 without due care and attention at Pepperbox Hill, A36, on September 3, 2023.

Sainsbury pleaded guilty and his licence was endorsed with five penalty points. He must also pay a £217 fine, £85 costs and an £87 surcharge.

Martin Namakhuwa, of Eyres Way, attacked police constable Holstead in Salisbury on April 1.

The 41-year-old was given an uplifted £300 fine as the offence involved an emergency worker. He must also pay £85 costs and a £120 surcharge.

Karin Laurant, 39, of Melksham, failed a roadside breath test at Southampton Road's McDonald's drive thru on March 29.

Salisbury Magistrates' Court handed Laurant an obligatory driving disqualification of 12 months which she can reduce by three months upon completion of a course.

Laurant was also fined £120 and ordered to pay £85 costs as well as a £48 surcharge during the hearing on Friday, April 19.

She was given credit for her guilty plea.

Alexander Hardisty, 43, of Middleton Road, was caught drink driving in an Audi A4 along Estcourt Road on March 31.

He had 66 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of his breath. The legal limit is 35mcg.

Hardisty was disqualified from driving for 18 months, fined £461 and ordered to pay £85 costs as well as a £184 surcharge.
