A MAN has been arrested and 'neglected' puppies seized following an attack involving XL bully in Ringwood.

Police responded to reports of an XL bully who was attacking other dogs and was 'dangerously out of control.'

When officers arrived at a property in Parsonage Barn Lane on May 7, they found several puppies as well as another adult dog suspected to be a banned breed.

Ringwood Police were first on the scene and managed to get the XL bully under control and speak to the owner before anyone is injured.

A spokesperson for Ringwood Police said: "A 42-year-old male from Ringwood was arrested for dangerous dog offences.

"It was also ascertained that there may be other animals in his address, so a search was authorised and conducted.

"Several puppies were found and seized, as well as another adult dog suspected to be a banned breed. They were all in a clear state of neglect."

Ringwood Police organised the move of the puppies and their mother to new 'lovely' kennels.
