The 18th annual Woodgreen Steam Show and Model Railway Exhibition drew more than 350 visitors over the Early May Bank Holiday Weekend.

The Sunday, May 5 event featured model railways and miniature steam engines, with proceeds benefitting the Alzheimer’s Society, The Roof Fund for Hale Church and Salisbury District Hospital-based Spires Smiles, which supports children and adults who have a cleft.

The event has been organised for years by Woodgreen residents Charles and Lynda Warne, with help from Reg and Mary Hunt.

Lynda said: “We always support Spires Smiles as our son, [Jamie], now 31, was helped enormously by them as a child, as are many families in the area and even further afield.”

The day featured rideable steam engines in addition to the tabletop models, complete with little stations, fields, pastures, railyards, people and sheep.
