A CARELESS driver who left a child fighting for their life has been banned from the roads.
Jade Munday, 25, of Morgans Vale, caused a three-car crash on the A338 between Charlton-All-Saints and Downton around 7.30am on July 26 last year.
Munday drove her Vauxhall Astra into a Ford Transit driving in the opposite direction, continued along the road then crashed into a Toyota Corolla.
Two children were sitting in the back of Munday's car when she crashed.
As previously reported, one of the passengers suffered life-threatening injuries as a result of Munday's poor driving while the other escaped with minor injuries.
The driver of the Toyota also suffered serious injuries.
Munday pleaded guilty to causing serious injury by careless or inconsiderate driving and was sentenced at Salisbury Magistrates' Court on May 9.
She was handed a community order during which she must complete 15 mental health treatment sessions with a psychologist and 20 further rehabilitation days with the probation service.
Munday was also disqualified from driving for a year and fined £180. She must pay £85 court costs and a £114 surcharge.
