THE town mayor has opened a new allotment site in Ringwood.

Councillor Gareth DeBoos officially opened the new allotment site at Crow Arch Lane in Ringwood on Tuesday, in the presence of fellow town councillors and allotment tenants.

Ringwood Town Council took ownership of the new and long-awaited allotments at the end of 2023.

Since then, it has been working hard to get those on the waiting list signed up as tenants in time for this year’s growing season.

This site has been laid out to provide 22 single plots (20m x 6m) and 25 mini plots (5m x 5m) and is set in a semi-rural location south of the housing development at Crow Lane.

This new site is a welcome addition to the other council allotment sites at Southampton Road and Upper Kingston.

To join the allotment waiting list, complete an application form and submit to Ringwood Town Council.

Forms can be found on the website ringwood.gov.uk and are also available from Ringwood Gateway.
