COUNCILLOR Alan Crossley has been elected as the new Mayor of Wilton. 

Wilton Town Council has said it is "delighted to announce" the news. 

Cllr Crossley will service as mayor for 2024-25, and will be supported during his Mayoral year by the Mayoress, his wife, Mrs Yvonne Crossley.

The Deputy Mayor for 2024-2025 is Councillor Charlotte Blackman, and the Mayor’s Chaplain will be Reverend Mark Wood.

Cllr Crossley said: "I would like to thank my fellow Councillors for the honour of electing me as Mayor of Wilton and I am looking forward to working with the new Deputy Mayor Councillor Charlotte Blackman, Councillors and fellow Wiltonians.

"I will continue to work hard for Wilton Town Council and for the residents of Wilton."

Essential tasks for Cllr Crossley will include continuing to support the Speed Indicator Device deployment across the four locations in Wilton, and continuing to push for improvements in Flood Resilience Support both in terms of resource and manpower."

Cllr Crossley added: "I am also very passionate about promoting and retaining the important Heritage Assets of Wilton Town.

"I am committed to addressing the concerns of the people of Wilton and can be contacted anytime via the Town Council website.”

The Mayor’s Charity for 2024 – 2025 will be support for the maintenance of Old Saint Mary’s Church.
