A WOMAN was seen getting into a car following "suspicious activity" in the early hours of this morning, in what the police have described as a "concerning incident". 

The force is now appealing for witnesses.

Officers were alerted to suspicious activity in St Marks Avenue around 1.30am this morning (Thursday).

When they arrived a black Ford Fiesta was seen driving away.

Detective inspector Eirin Martin said: "We are concerned for the safety of a woman who was seen getting into the vehicle. If that was you, or you were travelling in this vehicle please contact us to reassure us that you are alright.

"If saw anything suspicious in the area or have information that could help with our enquiries please contact us on 101 quoting log number 14 of today's date (23/05)."
