On Monday, July 15, Wyvern St Edmund's welcomed Kiran Millwood-Hargrave and Tom de Freston to speak to Year 7 students and inspire the next generation of authors and artists.

Kiran spoke about what inspires her writing and shared facts with Year 7 which inspired ideas for her stories, such as the age Greenland sharks can reach - 250 years, and can be over 500.
Tom also spoke about his path to becoming an artist and the process of illustrating books from the initial concepts to the published book.
Year 7 were given the opportunity to ask questions and then got to combine facts and their own creativity to come up with ideas for stories.
A spokesperson from the school said: "Wyvern St Edmund's is incredibly grateful to the Wylye Valley Arts Society whose generous funding made the event possible and who also gifted copies of Millwood-Hargrave's The Island At the End of Everything to school for Year 7 students to enjoy reading."
