SALISBURY'S newest "all day food and drinks venue" is set to open in the coming weeks.
The cafe intends to be a versatile spot, offering breakfast, lunch, dinner, and a wide range of drinks.
Despite its name, it’s not a traditional café.
General Manager Hilary describes it as an “all-day food and drinks” venue, where customers can enjoy everything from teas, coffees, and milkshakes to cocktails, seafood, full English breakfasts and notably smash burgers - a nod to the former Byron restaurant and reflecting the chefs’ experience.
The team behind News Cafe brings experience from several local favourites. Head Chef Jake and his sous chef, both formerly of Byron, are leading the kitchen, while most of the other staff have been recruited from the nearby Cosy Club.
The venue now has a full team of 20 to 25 staff members in place, ready for the soft launch planned for early September.
For those interested in drinks, the News Cafe will offer 20 different cocktails, all made with fresh fruit by the manager, who is also a mixologist.
A 2-for-1 deal on cocktails will run from 8pm on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, adding a lively evening option to the venue’s offerings.
The site has also hinted at plans to host regular events, potentially on a monthly basis, with more details expected soon.
Whether for a morning coffee, a relaxed lunch, or a night out with cocktails, the News Cafe is reportedly “the hottest new joint in town.”
