A biker claimed they “urgently needed the toilet” after allegedly being caught speeding at 110mph on a major A-road.
Police patrolling the A303 in Wiltshire for motoring offences reportedly clocked the motorcyclist at 110mph.
They were subsequently stopped by officers who claimed the rider told them they were speeding because they needed the toilet.
Despite the excuse, police issued the alleged offender with a summons to court.
A spokesperson for the force said: “Roads Policing Unit stopped the biker on the A303 for riding at 110mph.
“The rider stated they needed the toilet ‘urgently’ hence the speed.
“RPU offered some paper in the form of a summons to court.
“Driver requires their licence for their job.”
Officers emphasised that there is “no excuse” for excessive speeding and warned that it is one of the “fatal five” offences that can increase the risk of a collision.
Wiltshire Police has been targeting drivers committing these offences as part of a campaign to increase safety on the county’s roads.
