Salisbury City Council is looking for contractors to provide grave-digging services.

The council has issued a call for expressions of interest from experienced contractors for a new three-year contract.

The deal will cover grave excavations in the London, Devizes Road, and Avenue Cemeteries.

This includes digging new graves, reopening existing ones, and topping up sunken graves, with the contract starting on March 1, 2025.

The contract is set to conclude on February 29, 2028.

Contractors will need to supply all necessary equipment and tools, as well as the labour to carry out these tasks.

Tenders must be submitted in both hard copy and electronic formats by 12 noon on Friday, December 6.

They should be sent to Neil Lucas at Salisbury Crematorium, Barrington Road, Salisbury, SP1 3JB, and electronically to nlucas@salisburycitycouncil.gov.uk.
