The smallest young farmers' club in the county won big and triumphed at a major event.

Salisbury and District Young Farmers Club (YFC) competed at the Wiltshire YFC County Show on May 17 and 18, taking home five trophies.

The event, held near Chippenham, saw the club participate in various competitions, including baking, first aid, archery, air rifle shooting, cross-country running, cocktail making, and wagon racing.

Despite being the smallest club, Salisbury YFC claimed victories in floral art, tractor reversing, line dancing, pitching a ridge tent, bread rolls, and cupcakes.

The event provided an opportunity for members to socialise with friends from other Wiltshire clubs while also competing and supporting each other.

A spokesperson from the club said: "It was a great day out for all the members; a chance to socialise with friends from other Wiltshire clubs as well as competing and supporting each other throughout the day."

The club is actively seeking new members, emphasising that individuals do not need to come from a farming background.

Those aged between 10 and 28 with an interest in farming and rural life are encouraged to join.

More information can be found on the club's Facebook or Instagram pages.
