Teenager cycling 2,600 miles for charity to stop in Salisbury

Tom Dunlop, 19, is pedalling through towns, cities, and countryside to visit all 60 British racecourses. He started in Newton Abbot on Saturday, July 26, and he will finish in Newbury on Thursday, August 28.

The epic journey will test his physical and mental strength as he supports the Injured Jockeys Fund and Dorset's Diverse Abilities.

Tom explained his motivation: "During my gap year, I wanted to challenge myself and raise money for two charities.

"It is now time to give something back."

The money raised will help the Injured Jockeys Fund, which provides medical, pastoral, and financial assistance to injured jockeys and their families.

The Beehive Centre is currently fundraising to build a hydrotherapy pool.

Tom's mum's godson, Ollie Meyrick, 21, has Angelman's Syndrome and finds the centre beneficial.

Christina Dunlop, Tom's mum, said: "As a family, we not only have strong racing connections with Salisbury, but also I went to school at Godolphin, and I used to live nearby.

"Tom will be stopping at Salisbury Racecourse on Monday, July 28, between 12-1 pm, and it would be great to have as many people there as possible to support him."

His progress will be live-tracked, and anyone interested is invited to join him on any of the legs.
