Multiple roads in Wiltshire will be closed temporarily for various works starting September 29, 2025.
The Wiltshire Council has announced a series of temporary road closures across the county, affecting C42, High Street in Durrington, C12, High Street in Netheravon, Butts Road, Stonehenge Road, and C335.
The closures are to allow for essential works including fibre cabling, footway resurfacing, pole tests, sewer connection, gas main replacement, and carriageway resurfacing.
C42 in Wilsford Cum Lake will be closed between Hungerford Lane and approximately 950 metres to the north for fibre cabling and desilting works by Openreach. The closure will be in effect from 9.30am to 3.30pm for two days. Motorists will be able to use an alternative route via C42, Stonehenge Road, High Street, A345, and High Post Road.
In Durrington, a section of the High Street between Windsor Road and Meads Road will be shut for three days for footway resurfacing and ironwork adjustment. The closure will operate between 9am and 3.30pm, with an alternative route available via Meads Road, Coronation Road, Buford Road, and Windsor Road.
The C12 in Bishopstone and Broad Chalke will be closed between Flamstone Street and Stokes Farm for pole tests and associated works by BT. The closure will be in place for two days from 9.30am to 3pm, with motorists able to use an alternative route via C12, C64, A30, A36, A3094, C320, and C12.
High Street in Netheravon will be closed from its junction with Lower Road for approximately 50 metres in a southerly direction. Wiltshire Council will be carrying out sewer connection and associated works until October 24. The alternative route is High Street and Lower Road.
Butts Road in Salisbury will be closed from its junction with A345 for approximately 40 metres in a westerly direction for gas main replacement and associated works by Southern Gas Networks. The closure will be in place until October 3, with an alternative route via Butts Road, Ashley Road, A360, A36, and A345.
Stonehenge Road in Amesbury will be closed from its junction with Church Street for approximately 1,109 metres in a westerly direction for carriageway resurfacing and associated works by Wiltshire Council. The road will be closed from 3am to 11.59pm for four days. No alternative route is available, but access will be maintained for residents and businesses where possible.
Finally, C335 in Winterslow will be closed from its property known as Roche Court for approximately 100 metres in a south-westerly direction for communication equipment and associated works by Openreach. The closure will be in place for one day from 8am to 6pm, with an alternative route via Clough Lane West, Clough Lane North, A30, and C335.
Wiltshire Council has apologised for any inconvenience caused by these closures and has advised motorists to plan their journeys accordingly.
