A vibrant celebration of culture and community took centre stage in a recent festival of light.
The Indian Community of Salisbury hosted a Diwali celebration on Saturday, November 8, with colourful cultural dances, traditional music and a fireworks finale.
Dr Chalil Vinod, organiser of the event and a spinal consultant at Salisbury District Hospital, thanked the Mayor of Amesbury for her attendance.

Dr Vinod said: "Thank you for gracing the occasion of our Diwali celebrations on Saturday, 8th November.
"Your speech was very powerful and pertinent.
"Our members are very proud of your achievements.
"Your words were inspiring to our younger generation.
"Thank you for staying throughout the events and taking the opportunity to speak to our members.
"It was much appreciated and valued."
Special thanks were given to Dr Vinod, Dr Harshad Dabke, founder of the Indian Community of Salisbury, and the organising team.
Amesbury mayor, Dr Monica Devendran, called the event a "wonderful celebration of friendship, culture and togetherness".
She added: "The warmth, hospitality, and diversity on display reflected the very best of our shared values as a community."
The Mayor of Salisbury, Cllr John Wells described, it as "a celebration of Diwali, but also a celebration of unity and diversity".
