A renowned journalist will speak in Salisbury about the Gaza war.

Peter Oborne will discuss his new book, which claims the British Government played a role in tens of thousands of deaths in Gaza.

His talk is scheduled for January 21, at the Methodist Church in St Edmund's Church Street.

His book, Complicit, is said to detail "the role played by the British government in the destruction of Gaza".

It also explores the role of the national media in giving a "profoundly biased view" of events.

In his book, Oborne is notably critical of several news organisations.

These include the Telegraph, the Spectator, Murdoch-owned outlets, and the BBC.

He reportedly examines the involvement of MPs from various political parties who are part of what are described as well-funded Friends of Israel groups.

Oborne reportedly says they are "silent where they should be speaking out."

Oborne's talk is organised by the Salisbury Amnesty Group and is free of charge, with a collection at the end.

The event begins at 7pm.
