International award-winning pianist returning to Salisbury

The Salisbury Chamber Music Club will welcome the acclaimed musician for a solo recital on Saturday, April 25, at 7.30pm.

The performance will be held at the United Reformed Church, in Fisherton Street.

Born in 2000 and now based in Austria, Ling has quickly made a name for himself on the international stage.

His recent achievements include winning first prize at the Belá Bartok International Piano Competition in 2024 and the gold medal at the Martha Debelli Scholarship Competition in Graz.

Critics have praised Ling as possessing a "maturity and polish that belied his years".

He has also performed in well-known venues around the world, including London’s Wigmore Hall and the Wienermusikverein in Vienna.

Ling's programme for the evening includes a range of pieces from different musical periods.

He will perform Handel's Suite No.5 in E Major, HMV 430, Haydn's Piano Sonata in B minor, Rachmaninoff's Etude-Tableau in E-flat minor, and Ravel's La Valse.

The programme also includes Schumann's Kinderszenen, Bach's Prelude and Fugue No.16 in G minor, and Bacewicz's Piano Sonata No.2.

Ling’s recital marks his return to the Salisbury Chamber Music Club after previous successful performances.

His return is highly anticipated by club members and music lovers alike.

Tickets for the recital are £8 for non-members and £2 for students.

Children can attend for free.
