Cycling enthusiasts and organisations are set for a People in the Park event.

The gathering will take place at Queen Elizabeth Gardens on Saturday, May 16.

The event will feature a variety of local cycling groups, including the Cycling Opportunities Group for Salisbury (COGS), Breeze Rides, Salisbury Road and Mountain Cycling Club, Charlotte's Tandems, and Bikeability.

COGS, known for its advocacy for improved cycling conditions in Salisbury, will be among those present.

Local volunteers will offer free bike safety checks, repairs, and gear adjustments.

Visitors can also try out Salisbury's own pedal-powered Smoothie Bike to blend their own refreshments.

From 12.30pm, there will be free bike security checks and advice on theft prevention, along with bike marking services to aid in the recovery of stolen bikes.

Rob Jacobs, Chair of COGS, commented on the event's collaborative nature and its goal to promote cycling in Salisbury.

He urged the public to attend for local cycling information, summer bike checks, smoothie-making, and bike marking.

The event will run from 10.30am to 4.30pm.
