Wiltshire Council: Environmental health practitioner awarded

Milly Strong, who works at Wiltshire Council, received national recognition after winning the Rising Star Award at the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health (CIEH) Excellence Awards.

Cllr Paul Sample JP, cabinet member for environment, said: "We are incredibly proud of Milly and delighted that her talent, commitment and impact have been recognised at a national level.

"This award reflects both her professionalism and the impact she has already made early in her career."

Ms Strong joined the council in October 2024 and has already made a significant impact within the environmental control and protection team.

She has worked across air quality monitoring, public health engagement and the council’s statutory local air quality management duties.

She said: "Environmental health has such an important role in protecting communities, improving wellbeing and supporting healthier places to live.

"I am grateful to my colleagues at Wiltshire Council for their support and encouragement, and I am excited to continue developing my skills and contributing to work that makes a practical difference for residents."

A central part of her work involves supporting the Wiltshire Community Air Network, a countywide citizen science project using more than 100 air pollution monitors.
