Care home resident rides in a Ferrari at Thruxton Circuit

Tish Mack, a dementia resident at Yarnley House Care Home in Ringwood, enjoyed a day to remember at the race circuit thanks to the home's activities team.

The 92-year-old, who has lived at the home since September 2025, has long had a passion for motorsport.

Her dream day out was inspired during a recent visit to a supercar show at a nearby vehicle wrapping workshop, where she shared fond memories of attending European race circuits with her late husband, Peter.

As she admired the cars on display, the activities team decided to make her dream a reality with a visit to Thruxton.

Tish was left stunned and repeatedly asked where she was going, unable to believe that her dream was coming true.

When she saw the row of supercars at the circuit, she was visibly delighted, saying: "They are beautiful, absolutely beautiful."

The highlight of the day came when a Ferrari driver approached her.

Without hesitation, Tish handed him her handbag and said: "Come on darling; we're taking the red one."

Tish's family were delighted that the team had gone above and beyond to make such a meaningful wish come true.
