A care home has marked its 20th anniversary with a barbecue, live music and plenty of celebration.

Staff, residents and guests gathered at Milford House in Salisbury to mark the occasion and reflect on two decades of care in the community.

Abhishek Bagchi, general manager of the care home, said: "It is important to recognise the hard work of our staff here at Milford House.

"For the past 20 years, we have provided a caring home for our residents as well as the best possible environment for our staff.

"Today not only enables us to celebrate their hard work, but it's also an opportunity to thank the residents, their relatives and friends who have made Milford House a loving home."

It is operated by Barchester Healthcare, one of the UK’s largest care providers, and offers both residential and nursing care for 63 residents.

Originally built as a private residence for the Earl of Ilchester, the building has since been refurbished and extended,  providing an attractive mix of old architectural charm and purpose-built accommodation.

The anniversary barbecue is one of many regular events hosted by Milford House for residents, families and neighbours in the surrounding community.
