YOUNG author Libby Page has received praise from high places for her first book.

The 16-year-old, who works as a Saturday girl at Bijoux Beads in Salisbury, met Conservative leader David Cameron in the week she publishes ‘Love Pink’, from which 70 per cent of the profits are to go to Breast Cancer Care.

Mr Cameron said: “Libby’s hard work and commitment to produce this book is a great example of the determination and talent of young people in Britain today. I congratulate her and others who take the time to raise money for charities such as these which are always in need of our support.”

The book is a celebration of the colour pink, and includes celebrities’ favourite pink things and anecdotes, with contributors including actresses Joanna Lumley and Judi Dench.

Libby, who lives in Gillingham and is currently studying for her A levels, hopes to one day become a fashion journalist.

Love Pink is published by Fanahan Books and is available from Waterstones and WHSmith or at www.fanahanbooks.com.
