Salisbury youngsters avenge cup defeat

Salisbury under 15s turned in a great display to avenge a cup defeat inflicted on them a month ago.

With a runner up spot still up for grabs and four teams in with a shout Salisbury needed to win to leap frog there opponents today.

Salisbury started well and created chances from the off,and only a superb save thwarted Jack Aldridge after some great approach play from Ben Brown.

Then minutes later Danny Cousins pulled off a point blank save to deny College Youth Mid-Solents from taking the lead.

Salisbury then got the breakthrough and went ahead as Ben Brown crossed for Jack Aldridge to score 1-0 which remained the score at half time .

Salisbury started the second half well and a great through ball from Jack Aldridge found Ben Brown who nut-megged the keeper to increase Salisbury's lead.

College replied with a well taken goal from the off,2-1 Mitch Alford jinxed his way into the box only to be pulled down for a penalty up stepped Brad Vellenoweth the only outfield player not to score this season to break his duck 3-1.

College increased the pressure and a mistake in the Salisbury defence allowed them to pull one back 3-2, but Salisbury's dominance came through and two great goals from Ben Brown to give him a deserved hatrick sealed the game final score Salisbury 5 College 2 .
