The Cathedral has received a generous pledge of £964,555 from a donor who wishes to remain anonymous.

£900,000 of the gift is to fund essential work on the Chapter House which is part of the Cathedral’s Major Repair Programme and this element will now be completed ahead of its original schedule.

The remaining £64,555 will enable the completion of work on the Hemming Window, for which donations totalling £7,000 have already been received from two charitable trusts.

We are delighted and grateful for the pledge, which brings the amount raised by the Cathedral’s new Development Department since its inception to over £1.3 million and reminds us once again of the huge importance of donors, whether their gifts be large or small, in the past and future life of Salisbury Cathedral.
