The Cathedral will be trying out a later time for Sunday Evensong.
From 30 May to 29 August, Evensong will move to 4.30pm.
This will create a longer open period between Sunday services during the light summer afternoons and hopefully prove beneficial for both the congregation and visitors, many of whom can only visit during weekends.
Evensong and Installation of Canons - On 27 April, new Cathedral Canons are to be installed: Lay Canons with their stalls: Mrs Emma Osborne - Wimborne, Mrs Bridget Trump - Poole, Sir Philip Williams - Dorchester, and Mrs Lucinda Herklots - Heytesbury (Dean’s Prebend). Nonresidentiary Canons with their stalls: The Revd Janet Smith - Teynton Regis, The Revd Stephen Waine - (will be Venerable at installation) Gillingham and Minor, and The Revd David Scrace - Hurstborne and Burbage.
