DESPITE many of the weekend's fixtures postponed due to frosty pitches, a few of the club's young teams managed to get their matches played.
In the South Wilts Youth & Badger League, the club's under eights beat Rouge Raiders 2-0 in a highly entertaining game thanks to a goal in each half by Jake Rawkins. City 'keeper Toby Crabtree was in fine form to keep out Raiders' efforts.
Elsewhere, the youngsters were involved in cup competitions - all but one team progressing to the semi-final stage.
Salisbury's under nines A beat Clarendon 3-1, with the B team suffering a 6-0 reverse against Bemerton Heath Harlequins.
Both under tens teams were victorious - the A team beating Pewsey A 1-0 with a first half goal by James McConnell, while the B team won 3-2 against Laverstock A.
Connor Malone levelled after a Laverstock penalty had put them in front. 'Stock again took the lead only for Jack Found to equalise and take the sides in at half-time 2-2. Macauley Ngie grabbed what proved the winner.
City's under 11s A won 6-1 at Dilton, with the B team beating Pewsey 1-0.
The under 12s A team enjoyed a goal spree at West Harnham, winning 13-0. Rob Fisher scored a hat-trick, with James Haggaty (2), Oliver Batchelor (2) and Mark Thompson also on target. The B string won 1-0 against Pewsey.
Salisbury's Winchester & District six-a-side Girls league team suffered a 3-2 defeat against Burridge. Hannah Chalk scored both City goals and went close to grabbing a third - only the post and the bar denying her.
