The extensive work to complete the transformation of our cloister garden is now almost complete.
Made possible thanks to an anonymous donation from a keen Canadian horticulturalist and well-wisher, the new garden is beautifully simple and intended to be the best possible counterpoint to the marvellous Gothic architecture which surrounds it.
The central area has been raised and levelled, and the marker stones re-set in a newly laid lawn.
A low box hedge now surrounds the edge of the garden.
The new lawn still needs to be protected so we apologise for any inconvenience caused as the area remains roped off, but before too long visitors to the Cathedral will be able to walk in the garden once again.
