The Jenkinson Recital, Wednesday 16 June at 7.30pm -

Richard Cook, the Cathedral’s organ scholar, gives the prestigious Clive Jenkinson Organ Recital in the Cathedral.

His programme features well-known organ favourites including Franck’s Choral No 3 in A minor, four of the 24 Pieces en Style Libre by Vierne, Mendelssohn’s Sonata No 6 in D, Reger’s Toccata & Fugue in D and works by Bach, Simon Preston and Tomkins.

Daniel Cook, assistant director of music, says that Richard’s programme is full of contrasts and promises to be a really exciting concert by a wonderfully talented young organist.

Diocesan Choirs Festival, Sunday 13 June at 6.00pm -

350 choristers from churches throughout the Diocese meet in the Cathedral to sing under the leadership of David Halls, director of music. Daniel Cook is the Festival organist. All welcome. Admission free.

‘Singing Together' Concert, Monday 28 June at 1.00pm -

with four local primary schools and Salisbury Cathedral choristers. All welcome. Admission free.

‘Summer Music’ and Art Exhibition, Monday 28 June at 7.30pm -

The girls and men of the Cathedral Choir give a special concert at St George’s, Damerham to raise funds for the church. David Halls has chosen a programme of choral favourites with music by Naylor, Bernard Rose, Parry and Monteverdi. Daniel Cook plays organ.

From 6.30pm concert-goers may enjoy a glass of wine and an art exhibition in the church, with paintings by local artists Maureen Davies and Kate Charman. Tickets £10.00 from (01725) 518417, or at the door.

The boys and men of the Cathedral Choir give a fundraising concert for and at St Katharine’s Church raising money towards the re-ordering of the church.
