Visit the Cathedral on Saturday 19 June (10.00am – 5.00pm) and discover more about the building’s history and the people who live, work and worship here.

Share in a day which is being specially created to provide interest and fun for all ages with an emphasis on participation.

There will be displays showcasing the skills practiced here from the exceptional work of the glazing specialists, conservators and masons in the Works Department through to the embroiderers and flower arrangers.

The Vestry, Muniments Room and Library will all be open. Hear about the Cathedral’s history in ten minutes and bring your children to enjoy hands-on activities with the inspirational Education Department. There will be a marquee on the West Lawn serving refreshments all day.

12.30pm The Dean formally welcomes everyone from the pulpit
1.00pm Jazbytes perform (Cloisters)
2.00pm - 2.45pm Join in a ‘Singing workshop’ in the quire
2.00pm - 3.00pm Morris dancing on the West Lawn
3.00pm - 3.45pm Open rehearsal in the quire by Salisbury Cathedral Choir
4.00pm Open Day service of Evensong

In addition to the above, other Close attractions - Salisbury and South Wilts Museum, The Rifles (Berkshire and Wiltshire) Museum, Sarum College and the gardens of Mompesson House and Arundells - are all joining the Cathedral’s initiative and opening free of charge for the day.
