BUDDING sculptors at Sarum Academy paid a visit to the cathedral to see an art exhibition and widen their knowledge about sculptures.
The Year 13 pupils, who are designing a sculpture for Queen Elizabeth Gardens, visited the Liminality exhibition and enjoyed a tour by cathedral education officer Sarah Ricketts.
She explained the meanings behind the sculptures and how they are related to the theme of liminality, which means a spiritual state between reality and dreams.
The enjoyed viewing the sculptures, which included one created by Roger Stephens – the artist working with them at the academy.
The pupils also talked to Jay Battle, another of the sculptors, and drew from the sculptures with him before they left.
