BEN Brewster is hoping to win the Journal wedding competition to give his partner, Roxanne Baker, the perfect wedding.

He proposed to Roxanne on Christmas Day in 2009 in front of an open fire - and the whole family - but, since then, their wedding plans have been put on hold.

The couple live with Ben’s parents at Woodside Road, Salisbury and are saving up so they can move out.

Ben said: “We are trying to save enough money to move out and start our lives in a house of our own. This has meant our wedding plans have been put in the background and, at the moment, we can only dream of the perfect wedding.”

Ben and Roxanne, both 20, were at Salisbury High School together, but it wasn’t until they were in the sixth form they got to know each other.

“We had been to school together for three years but never spoken to each other. We started dating in sixth form and, six months later, we got engaged,”

said Ben.

Roxanne, who is currently studying business, works at Boston Tea Party and Mitchell’s fish and chip shop in Salisbury, and Ben works for Wiltshire Police as a community support officer.

Ben said: “I love Roxanne more than anything in this world, and I would love nothing more than to stand at the end of the aisle and look at the smile on her face when I put the ring on her finger.”
