TWO Tidworth women completed a ten-mile charity skate to raise money for a local centre that helps children with disabilities.
Sue Bailey and Laura John did a sponsored in-line roller skate from Tidworth to Bulford and back again on Sunday to raise money for Devizes Opportunity.
The group is based in Devizes but has opened a centre in Tidworth.
Mrs Bailey said that, despite weeks of practicing, it was anything but easy on in-line skates as recent rain meant the roads were littered with debris.
They are still collecting sponsorship money but hope to have raised more than £700 for the centre.
Mayor of Tidworth Chris Franklin saw them off on their challenge. He said: “It is at times like this I can see a change within the community of Tidworth. It is great that Sue and Laura have decided to come up with a different way of helping raise money for another worthy cause in this ever growing town.”
