DONNA Bush has been dreaming of the perfect wedding since she was a little girl and is hoping the Journal’s Win your Wedding competition will help make her dreams come true.

When she decided to give online dating a try five years ago, 33-year-old Donna was a little cautious and never thought she would meet the love of her life.

“I didn’t know what to expect,” she said. “I had never done anything like that before but Simon was one of the first people I spoke to.”

Simon Morton, 30, was just the type of person she had hoped to meet, and the couple chatted online and on the telephone before arranging to meet up for a drink just 17 days later. They hit it off immediately and have been together ever since.

Donna, who was living in Bristol when they met, moved in with self-employed chimney sweep Simon, in Durrington, six months after they met.

Although they have thought about getting married, they decided to try for a baby instead, and little Charlie was born seven months ago.

“It took two years for me to get pregnant,”

said Donna, “and I really didn’t expect anything else.

“But then, 12 weeks after Charlie was born, Simon took me out to dinner and proposed during dessert.”

The proposal, at Salisbury’s Red Lion Hotel, distracted Donna, a PA at HPA in Porton, from her ice cream and reduced her to tears of joy.

She said “yes” and the pair would love a church wedding with Donna’s two sisters and closest friends as bridesmaids, her nieces as flower girls and Charlie as a page boy.

“Winning this dream wedding would mean so much to me. All I want is to marry the person who makes me feel complete and my life would be totally perfect.”
