A FORMER Salisbury man has been charged with the sexual assault of a child aged under 13 and possessing indecent images of children.
Paul Michael Trotter, 34, was working for luxury cruise ship firm Cunard as a supervisor for a children’s activity area when the offences are alleged to have occurred, between December 20, 2010 and January 5, 2011.
Trotter was initially arrested in August last year when he was living in Salisbury, on suspicion of making, possessing and distributing indecent images.
He has since moved to Pontefract, West Yorkshire, and he is no longer employed by Cunard, which operates the Queen Mary 2, the Queen Victoria and Queen Elizabeth cruise liners.
He was remanded in custody by Chippenham magistrates on Monday and is due to appear via video link at Swindon Magistrates’ Court on Thursday.
Wiltshire Police are contacting all of the parents they need to speak to in relation to the investigation but if parents are concerned they are asked to contact the NSPCC on 0800 9804502.
