FOOTBALLERS from Mere played host to the Gillingham Family Tournament last week and remained undefeated all afternoon.
Parents of the Mere Primary School children were out in force to watch their team beat St Mary’s Primary School, Gillingham, 1-0 in the semi final.
The final between Mere and Wyke primary schools failed to produce a clear winner so it was decided to share the prize between them.
The trophy will now spend six months in Mere and six months in Wyke.
Martin Marshall, from Mere Primary School, said: “It was a hugely successful afternoon and greatly enjoyed by everyone. Mere Primary School would like to thank Mere Town FC for sponsoring the event and Mere Parish Council for the use of the Andy Young Pavilion.”
