Aldi’s Harvest Morn Honey Nut Cornflakes has beaten Kellogg’s Crunchy Nut in a taste test by consumer champion, Which?
A blind test put the Aldi own brand cereal against Kellogg’s cereal against each other. It concluded Aldi’s own brand was the best, despite being the cheapest on the market at only 85p.
Kellogg’s Crunchy Nut came joint third, scoring just 73% compared to Aldi’s 76% – even though the branded cereal costs more than x3.5 times as much.
Aldi awarded 'Best Buy' endorsement
Aldi’s Harvest Morn Honey Nut Cornflakes were given a ‘Best Buy’ endorsement and were labelled ‘Great Value’.
Morrisons Honey Nut Corn flakes were also awarded a ‘Best Buy’.
Which? said about Aldi’s cereal: “Well-balanced honey and nut flavours, plus the satisfying level of crunch proved a hit with our tasters. They’re good value for money too, offering considerable savings compared with Kellogg’s. Aldi, which is the joint-cheapest on test, costs just 17p per 100g – less than three times the price of Kellogg’s at 60p per 100g.
“Opting for Aldi or Morrisons will also get you a healthier breakfast. Both cereals contain around 20% less sugar compared to Kellogg’s…”
