An Emmerdale favourite is set to return to screens this summer as part of a dramatic new storyline.
Rebecca Bakes, who has played Angelica King since 2009, will return as part of a plot that sees the death of her on-screen father, Jimmy King, played by Nick Miles.
Despite not being on screen recently, Angelica was fictionally still in the village, with Rebecca last filming scenes in 2024, and her last on-screen appearance in January 2025.
Her brief return came following a hiatus that began in March 2024, when her character was sentenced to a young offenders' institution after a fatal car crash.

She is not the only character returning as part of the storyline, with the actress's on-screen brother Nick Miles, played by Luca Hoyle, returning too after two years off-screen.
"The kids have been off-screen for almost two years but will make a return this summer," a source told the Sun.
"They’re all really excited to be back filming, but it’s tinged with sadness because Nick is leaving the show."
Jimmy is reportedly set to be killed off in a dramatic twist later this year, following reports that Nick Miles had been written out of the series.
The new storyline will also see the return of Emmerdale legend Patsy Kensit as the iconic villain Sadie King.
In a statement after her return was announced, Patsy said: “I am really excited to return to Emmerdale.
“I treasure the years I was here before.
“Sadie King is a character that I really loved playing.
“The cast and crew are absolutely brilliant and I am so grateful for the chance to return to the show, it’s absolutely amazing.”
When is Emmerdale on this week?
The 2026 World Cup has now finished and will no longer be disrupting the soap schedule.
Fans will once again be getting five new 30-minute episodes of Emmerdale this week, along with fellow ITV soap Coronation Street.
Emmerdale and Corrie will each air from 8pm and 8.30 pm respectively, Monday to Friday.
