A FOOTBALL match between Laverstock and Ford and Bemerton Heath Harlequins was abandoned this afternoon after an assistant referee collapsed.
The health scare occurred at about 3.30 pm β approximately 30 minutes into the match and an ambulance was seen at the side of the pitch.

As both teams were lining up for a free kick, the assistant referee has collapsed on the dugout side.
Hopefully all is ok, our thoughts are with him ππΌππΌ
The Journal received reports that a defibrillator wasΒ used on the referee and that the Air Ambulance was also called.
A tweet from Bemerton Heath Harlequins stated that the assistant referee "seems cognisant after attention from staff and team physiotherapists".
The Journal has contacted Laverstock Football Club and the Ambulance Service for more information.
