Redlynch & Hale 1st XI win by seven wickets at Burley

Alec Moorman managed to grind out 30 valuable runs before George Hayes' leg-spin mopped up the tail with 4-23 as Burley pushed on to a reasonable 190 all out.

In response, Tanner anchored the innings with an unbeaten 77 as he and Dave Webber smashed eight fours in his 36 in the opening stand of 71.

Will Hewlett fell cheaply, but Andy Soutar, with some classy boundaries in his 29, ensured the target was going to be reached.

Nathan Pollard (10*) and Tanner then saw their side home with 11 overs still in hand.

The club's second string were edged out by just one run, just failing to pass visitors Cadnam's 151-8 with Ben Brown 4-22.

With the hosts on 150-9 with three balls remaining, Will Westwood (23) tried a quick single but Cadnam were quicker and he was agonisingly run out.

And at Ampfield, the third XI, with five under-15s playing, were sadly no match for Ampfield and N. Baddesley II.

Skipper Peter Biddlecombe held the innings together with 63 out of a total of just 112.

Former Saints player Graham Baker notched 64 as his side romped home by seven wickets.
